Poetic Moments of a By-gone Past (written before July 2006)

Elevation (written on the 10th of Feb., 2004, for a girl to whom I had proposed in a letter, expressing the crescendoes of my emotions, in a language hovering around pompous prolixity. I was rejected [:)] )

I was walking amidst a withered bough,
On one side, a spaggy pond,
Spunning out to great lengths
On a dry parched up land,
When suddenly my heart lost a beat.
With your ever-blossoming angelic face accruing...
The light of desire! Trailing on the sparkling stars,
Prodigious galloping of the shores,
Simmering away with reflections and...
Stupefied to good heart again,
In company of solitude...

Requiem of the self (written on 9th March, 2005. The next day shook my life and lives of many people around, just because of an impetuous and irresponsible decision)

The world has no sorrow that death cannot efface,
Nor any pain that it cannot erase.
Torment, at worst, invokes the last sleep,
That ends it all, but makes mortals weep.
My temporal pleasures are dead.
I sense no joy in food, work or bed.
Lost are all my hopes and fears.
On my death, shed no tears.
I lie in wait for death's soft embrace.
For eternal slumber, in a serene place,
To end this life of toil, strife and race,
To rid the flesh of of its pangs and pleasures' chase.

A plea for punishment (A short poem of apology written for somebody whom I have wronged so severely that it is painful for me even to recount the episode, when we were together. Written on 16th May, 2006)

When the wicked is confounded,
And doomed to flames of woe unbounded,
Call me with your saints surrounded.
I will kneel with my heart in submission,
You will see, like ashes, my contrition!
I will be in my last condition,
But show me, no commisseration.
